Among the diverse artists who receive production assistance each year, recipients of the Wexner Center Artist Residency Award constitute a special category. A handful of artists spanning all creative disciplines are selected annually by the center’s director and curators to receive this distinction. Celebrating its 22th anniversary this season, the Artist Residency Award program (previously known as the Wexner Center Residency Award program) offers the most substantial support: considerable financial resources, along with technical, intellectual, professional, and moral support to develop new work.
Each residency is specifically tailored to the particular needs and rhythms of the artist. We in turn bring the full resources of the Wexner Center and Ohio State to their pursuits, often brokering collaborations across campus—not only with faculty, staff, and students in the arts and humanities, but with those in the sciences, as well as in business, law, and medicine—and in the broader local community.
Dentre os vários artistas que recebem assistência à produção todos os anos, os vencedores do Wexner Center Artist Residency Award compõem uma categoria especial. Alguns poucos artistas representantes das mais diversas disciplinas criativas são selecionados anualmente pela direção e pela curadoria do centro para receberem essa distinção. Comemorando sua 22ª edição este ano, o programa Artist Residency Award (anteriormente conhecido como Wexner Center Residency Award) oferece um apoio substancial: recursos financeiros consideráveis acompanham o apoio técnico, intelectual, profissional e moral para o desenvolvimento de novos projetos.
Cada residência é feita sob medida para as necessidades e ritmo individuais de cada artista. Nós colocamos à disposição todos os recursos do Wexner Center e do estado de Ohio para os projetos, sempre buscando colaboradores em todo o campus — não apenas entre docentes, profissionais e estudantes de artes e humanidades, mas também das áreas de ciências, direito e medicina —, além da própria comunidade local.
